UPDATE: Events have been suspended thru May 9, 2020

Patrons, Volunteers, and Partners,

I learned this morning that the City of Winter Haven, in conjunction with state officials and local safety and health experts are recommending that events with an audience larger than 250 individuals be suspended effective Monday, March 16, in order to manage the transmission of COVID-19 virus.

As a community theatre, our primary concern is always for our volunteers and audience. Knowing that a large percentage of our audience is vulnerable to this virus, we are adopting the most aggressive response to our Civic Leaders’ recommendations.

Effective immediately, THEATRE WINTER HAVEN and THE RITZ THEATRE will be suspending performances. Further, we will be suspending rehearsals, classes, and choir for the remainder of March as we evaluate the risk to our community.

We will continue to follow the recommendations of our elected leaders and health experts in this matter and evaluate the situation daily.

In closing, our objective is to always serve our community in the most responsible way possible. It is important to us that our volunteers, patrons, and partners know every decision is made with the best interests of all who call Theatre Winter Haven “home” in mind.

Respectfully,

Dan Chesnicka
Producing/Executive Director
Theatre Winter Haven
